Building a list is only half the battle – you've also gotta keep them engaged and make sure they know, like, and trust you so that they WANT to buy from you (otherwise, what's the point?). Watch the episode below to know 3 types of content you can use to build trust, authority, and “likeability” with your list!”Extra Love” Content
I'll bet you thought that once you built your list, you'd be able to come up with endless things to keep them entertained and engaged. But if you're like a lot of us, it's not as easy as it sounds.
After all, everyone says "Content is King" but actually creating it can be overwhelming. So allow me to make it easy on you. Here are three types of content that you can deploy to keep your list healthy, active, and engaged:
Tip #1 "One and Done" Content
These are content pieces you set up and automate once, and after that they do the work to nurture your audience after that. The most common form of "One and Done" nurturing content is the "Indocrintation or Welcome" Sequence. You hit your audience with this series of emails early to speed up the "getting to know each other" process… but you'll only use this with people who've just signed up for your list for the FIRST TIME. In the Welcome sequence, I like to send 1 email welcoming the new subscriber to my community and explaining what to expect, 1 email with my story, 3 emails with value-only, no-opt-in, no-pitch content, 1 email inviting them to my signature social media platform, and then 1-2 emails with surveys I can use to segment them and figure out what they want or need. You set these emails up once and automate them to go out to new subscribers. After that, you never have to touch it again. The system does the work for you!
Tip #2 "Recurring" Content
You'll also want to keep your list engaged with content they can expect to receive regularly at a consistent day and time each week. Otherwise, you'll be about as memorable as the last Transformers movie. The most common problem I see entrepreneurs have when it comes to using a list to make money online is they build up the list and then let it die because they aren't consistently communicating with the list they've built. One hack I use is to bulk create my content - for example, right now I'm here with my videographer recording about 50 Web TV Shows over the course of 2 days. Boom!
Tip #3 "Extra Love" Content
If you really want to raise the engagement-o-meter, try occassionally - like, once a quarter or so - offering value-only, no-pitch, no-opt in content such as Webinars or Challenges JUST for your subscribers. Especially if you have unengaged subscribers, you can use these Extra Love Content pieces as incentive for them to stay on your list. And if they STILL don't engage, then clean up your list and boot them off your list. You gotta keep your list healthy to really get the most out of it!
So there you go. Use "One And Done" content such as a Welcome Sequence, Recurring Content such as Weekly Newsletters, and Extra Love Content such as no-pitch, value-only, no-opt in Webinars or Challenges - and you won't have to ever worry about keeping your list engaged!
