Ep. 82 – Instagram Expert Wendy Porter’s “How My 3 Week Launch Earned $33K With NO Ads”

  • 6:20 – Wendy says that when you start with Instagram, the first thing that you need to do is to make sure that you have a visually stimulating Instagram page that is very appealing to the eye so that people will want to follow you because it all starts with trying to get followers.
  • 7:28 – You should also create an outstanding bio by saying what it is that you do and how it’s going to benefit others to follow you so that you can attract your ideal clients.
  • 9:42 – Once you have them as your followers, then you have to build the know like and trust factor and the trust piece can be built pretty easily through consistency and ensuring that you are posting at least twice a day so that the audience knows that you are there for them. Then for the know and like piece it’s all going to be about your personality and your stories so you should find a way to infuse that into your Instagram page and Wendy achieves that through quotes.  And for coaches this is pretty simple they can break their advice down into little sentences and make a quote out of it.  You can also borrow other people’s quotes as long as you give them credit for those quotes.
  • 11:15 – Wendy’s fourth tip is to make sure that you are collaborating with accounts that have your ideal audience. She has built relationships with other Instagram influencers and once you learn to build relationships with influencers whose audience is your ideal client and become friends with them on Instagram, you can reach out to them and ask them to do shout outs for you. A shout out consists of them posting one of your quotes or pictures that you have on Instagram, putting it on to their page and shouting you out.  These shout outs can generate a large number of followers depending on how large their Instagram account is. You could also ask them to share your link in their bio. When they share your picture as well as your link, it draws their audience directly to your opt-in page or your sales page. 
  • 15:42 – According to Wendy, everybody is very friendly on Instagram and Instagram has 54 times more engagement than Facebook. So people want to engage there and they want to be your friends.
  • 16:17 – Recently Instagram has launched Instagram stories and when they launched this, within two months of launching they had two hundred million daily active users using this feature and watching these videos.  And a new feature that Instagram has launched is that you can put a link in your Instagram story now.
  • 19:35 – Instagram now allows you to put links in your direct messages.
  • 23:35 – Wendy says that the main thing with Instagram and becoming an Influencer on Instagram or getting followers on Instagram and converting them into a customer is by showing your personality. Instagram is a very creative platform so you must show a lot of personality, infuse your stories in there and you will quickly build relationships on Instagram.
